An overview of the Questions and Answers in the run up to your Big Day!

Your questions asked and answered

Q: How can I arrange a viewing of the hotel?

A: We take appointments at any time that suits you, however we recommend an appointment with Pauline, our Wedding Coordinator on a day of a wedding, so that you get to experience the hotel as it will be on your wedding day.  Please email Pauline.Cassidy@theinnatdromoland.ie to arrange.

Q: What are your minimum numbers for Weddings?

A: The minimum numbers on our Packages is 120 Adults for weekends and 90 Adults for Midweek dates.  More intimate wedding receptions are warmly welcome, however a venue hire fee will apply on top of your chosen package.

Q: Can I hold a date provisionally with you?

A: Absolutely, we can hold a date for a maximum of 2 weeks, afterwhich time the date will automatically be released.  If the hotel receives another enquiry for that date within these 2 weeks, the hotel shall contact the couple at which time a deposit will be required to confirm the date.

Q: How much is your deposit?

A: We require a €1000 booking deposit to confirm your wedding date.  We do offer a Flexi Payment Plan for this.  A further €2000 is requested 3 months in advance of your wedding date, with the balance paid on departure.  We will issue you with a receipt on first payment along with a Wedding Contract which will need to be signed to confirm your acceptance of the Terms and Conditions?  Deposits are non refundable.

Q: Do you charge Corkage?

A: We charge €10 per 75cl bottle of still wine and €15 per 75cl bottle of sparkling wine or Champagne.

Q: Is the Bar Extension included?

A:  The Bar Extension until 2am is included with our Wedding Packages.  For more intimate gatherings, the fee will be added to your bill.

Q: Do you offer preferred accommodation rates for our Wedding Guests?

A: We include a bedroom allocation (including any rooms within your package), and this is automatically held once you confirm your date.  Six weeks prior to your wedding date, any un-named rooms will be automatically released.  If you require more than the set allocation, we review on a case by case basis depending on our availability. Any additional rooms will be at the "on the day" rate.

Q: What is your Cancellation Policy?

A:  In the event of a cancellation, charges will be applied to Food, Beverage, Bar Extension and Accommodation costs as follows:

Greater than 12 months from the wedding date - Non Refundable Deposit

12 months to 8 months - 10% cancellation charge

8 months to 3 months - 25% cancellation charge

12 weeks to 5 weeks - 50% cancellation charge

Within 4 weeks - 100% cancellation charge

Should you wish to postpone your wedding date, we can transfer your booking deposit to a new date within 12 months of the original date booked, with no penalty.

Q: Do you cater for Civil Ceremonies on site?

A: Yes we have two rooms - The Sun Lounge can accommodate up to 50 Guests and The Patio Room can accommodate up to 130 Guests for a Wedding Ceremony.  Should you require a larger room, we can accommodate Civil Ceremonies in our Ballyhannon Suite and we can turn around this room for your Wedding Banquet after the Ceremony (please allow 2.5 hours)

Q: Do you offer any options for Pre or Post Wedding Parties?

A: Yes we can offer a variety of options, whether it is a Finger Food gathering in Shannigans Gastro Pub or a BBQ event in The Sun Lounge / Ballyhannon Suite.

Q: Can we use Dromoland Castle for our wedding day photographs?

A: The Inn at Dromoland has created a viewing area specifically for our own wedding guests, with Dromoland Castle and Lake as a backdrop.  It is not possible to use any other areas of the Castle grounds for this purpose.

Q: How far out can I do my Wedding Tasting?

A: This is entirely up to you as a couple - as a general rule, most couples would arrange this for 3 months prior to the wedding date.
